Any restaurant that will want to install a charbroiler and/or pit barbecue that has greater than 5 square feet of total cooking area must file for a "air quality general permit to construct" permit with the maryland department of the environment, air and radiation management administration, 1800 washington blvd, ste 720, baltimore, md 21230-1720. 410-537-3230. The cost of the permit is $200 per unit and is a one time fee only.
